Avanti cars

I thought Avanti was just a really ugly car from the 70's, made by a long extinct company. I've learned that I was wrong, the company has been churning out a small number of extremely ugly cars for quite some time. On their website they show their 2005 convertible (called a Studebaker ), and a SUV that looks like a Ford Truck.

The fact that gas prices are climbing Mt. Everest and the SUV market is about as dead as Iraq's lust for democracy does not seem to be phasing the company from introducing another school bus sized gas guzzler. A link on the site to their "SVO Lister"model shows what appears to be a cheap kit car from the 80's. From what I hear, that market is exploding right now.

Based solely on the ugly cars and the website that looks like it was made by an eight year old, I can't imagine that this company has ever turned a profit. There must be some really rich executives out there that love the look of round lights on a body as flat as a basketball court and they are willing to loose money on it.
