Emily's hospital visit

As many of you know, we have had a bad time with Emily's breathing this year. Any little runny nose or cough triggers her wheezing. It hits her very hard. This landed us in the ER last Thursday night. After giving her a breathing treatment, inhaler, cold meds, Ibuprofen for a fever we ended up going anyway. Nothing was helping. Her oxygen levels we down to 87% when we got there. It was a very scary time. They stuck her twice to draw blood and had to dig quite a bit with the needle. I was crying more than she was. Poor thing, it hurt her so bad. I told them they could not do it a third time after the test came back wrong. They put her on oxygen and after about 3 breathing treatments her oxygen levels finally came back up to decent levels. She was exhausted. We were admitted for the night and she was able to get off the oxygen at about 2 am after her 3rd breathing treatment. They have finally diagnosed it as Asthma. We now have to keep a very close eye on her. Even just playing for too long causes her to breath too hard. She is now on 2 different inhalers, her breathing treatments when she needs them,Singular, and she has just finished a week of steroids. I hope this gets better soon. She was a trooper and she is so strong. I love her so.
