The whole family has been sick for what seems like a month.
Earlier in the month the bird died from apparent unintentional trauma to the head. Tamara took that pretty hard, and Emily was sad for about a day. I never really got attached to the bird.
Then my dog Scooter threw out his back again. That is not abnormal for him but he's not recovering and the vet says it would cost $1800 to try and fix it (no guarantees either). In the meantime he has lost most of the control of his back legs, and more recently his bladder / pooper. He can really only crap on the carpet for so long before we have to just bite the bullet and put him down (in fact we are about to leave for the vet now).
Throw in the fact that every one of us has come down with some sort of bug that causes everything from headaches to puking, fever and flu like symptoms and you can imagine what it has been like around the house. The trash is overflowing, there are dishes everywhere, strang smells are starting to make themselves known and the mood is not chipper.
On the bright side we (the humans in the family) are starting to feel better and the house is looking cleaner.
When your not sick it's hard to remember exactly what being sick feels like, but when you are it's very easy to recall. Being sick gives you a different perspective, time slows down, smells and tastes are different, and personally I can't sleep.
That's about all for now. Expect a post shortly about my soon to be dead dog.
