Pumpkn Patch 2008

We took the kids to the pumpkin patch this past weekend and has lots of fun. April and the girls went also. We watched pig races, did hay rides, played on hay stacks, picked pumpkins, pet the aminals and just had a nice time with the kids.

Lucky the Police Dog

We had a visit from Lucky who decided to dig his way out of his yard when he was all alone. They called Chris to ask if he would watch him until his family got home. Chris is on the same shift that Lucky and his handler work on so he is very familiar with Chris as Chris is Lucky. The kids thought he was so nice and enjoyed playing with him. Chris was so in his element. He is such a dog person. He of course could not let him lay on the floor like a normal dog as you can see. If Chris had a K-9 it would be spoiled ROTTEN!

Fall 2008

The kids are enjoying the cooler weather and we are getting outside more. Emily is riding her big bike now and Jacob loves his 3 wheeler. The sand box has become a popular hang out lately. It's a regular among the kids. Em is making friends with the kids down the street, which excites her to no end. The neighborhood is filling with families and kids and it is nice to see. It seems it is becoming a "police" neighborhood. I couldn't tell you how many police associated families live here now. I guess that makes it safe enough, LOL. We are looking forward to the holidays and visits with family and friends. We are so blessed to have our little family.

Halloween parties and sleepovers

Em had her Halloween party at gymnastics and then had a sleepover with Kailey and Trin. They had so much fun they were exhausted by the time we got home. They played games, painted pumpkins, had a snack, showed off their costumes and got some goodies. They loved the parachute, especially when all the parents were spinning then around while laying on top of it. I was under the impression we were able to leave them and pick them up but that was not the case. I had to stay and "help". Jacob was with me as well so he did participate in some of the things. He should of dressed up too. It was a good night and I am now glad I was there to see them having so much fun and get some pictures.

Old Fashion Day -Oct 08

We went to the Old Fashion Day in Benton. This was the 35th year I believe. It is a festival of hand made goodies, booths and auctions. Emily of course had to do the inflatables and Jacob was content riding in the stroller the whole day.

The Kids

The kids are growing and doing well. They make our family so much fun and I always say to myself "What was it like before we had kids? It must have been pretty boring."

Emily is 4 and 1/2 now. She is still our petite little girl. She is a good mix between the two of us. She is very sweet and caring of others. She is always in tune to what is going on around her. She likes to help out with chores and help other people as well. She likes to bake lately. She is so proud of what she comes up with. She is getting older and acting as if she is 14 on some days. Her attitude needs some adjustment every once in a while. She is enjoying pre-school and is an eager learner. She is starting to read some words in books and is very excited that she "can read" as she says. She is a quick learner. She is very computer literate already. Most of the time I don't even have to show her how to play a game, she just figures it out on her own. She is having lots of fun with her friends and is having more and more play dates and sleepovers. She still loves to "GO" and is very concerned about our plans and when we are doing things. She has somehow learned to read the clock already. Most of the time she gets it correct. I think she is getting that from her Mama. I like to plan and have things to do as a family and it is rubbing off on her. She is thriving and being a good girl.

Jacob is now 2 years 4 months. He is more like 3 or 4 though. Everyone comments on how well he speaks for a 2 year old. He is very smart and picks things up so easily. He is going to be mechanically inclined. He loves cars and tractors. He will even tell you if its a backhoe or a bulldozer. He loves to run his cars up and down people. Not the floor or table but your leg, arm etc..whatever he can get his hands on. It is really funny. In the mornings he will come to my room with a few cars in hand and get on the bed and run them up and down my back. It feels really nice actually. He is still my snuggle guy. He loves to just sit with you and cuddle. He is all boy and loves to get dirty. It amazes me what he finds to do with his toys. He will find something new to do with his matchbox cars everyday. He is very simple. He will play with the same toy all day. I think it is a game for him to find as many things to do with it as he can. He is going through a "non-eating stage" right now. He loves meat or chicken and will eat that but not much else besides junk food. He still loves his milk and drinks tons of it. He has got to have the strongest bones possible. He is enjoying his school. He gets excited when its time to go. He takes his backpack in and gives it to his teacher and tells her whats inside. He is very literal at this stage. On the days he is not in school we are usually heading to the gym where he plays in the kids gym. He likes Mrs. Faye and always tells me all the kids are his "friends." He is a big helper with everything. He gets so upset if someone else lets Sagan out to pee. Apparently that is his job. He is all about his Daddy. He would choose Daddy over Momma any day, with the exception of him getting a boo boo or being sick. He is pretty much potty trained but if he has a diaper on he will go in it. I just need to nip it in the bud and get rid of the diapers all together. He is a joy to have and it makes me sad he is already out of the baby stage.

We are looking forward to going to the Pumpkin patch and all the fall festivites coming up. Halloween will be fun having Texas Granny and Papa here with us. The following weekend we are heading to Branson for Titan's 1st birthday party. We love our family time and make it a point to enjoy the simple pleasures and each other. Things are good.

Our Hiking Trip

We took the kids to hike on Sunday. We went to Maumelle Park and checked out the visitors center. The kids loved the bee hive, the alligator and turtle. We hiked one of the Mountain trails. It was a 2 and 1/2 mile trek up the mountain and back. The kids did pretty well. There was a bit of whining on the way back but we rested a lot and took our time. The half mile straight up to the peak was a bit rough but we took a long rest once we got there. The kids liked seeing all the different bugs and singing songs along the way. It was a good family day.

The two people who made this family possible.

Chris made this little creation....

Emily's new hair cut.

We got about 6 inches taken off. She looks so much older now. The next day was also picture day at school so she was excited to have her new due on picture day. No more tangles!

Fall Fest 08

The kids and I went to the fall festival at Mills Park. We went with April and the girls, Amy and Trinity. The kids had fun going from booth to booth getting candy and other goodies. It got a bit hot at the end of the day and we were all tuckered out. Em had a sleepover with Kailey that night and we all hung out at Aprils on Sunday. It was a nice weekend but would of been better if the Daddy's could of been there(I think April and Amy would agree).
