Emotions...Meltdowns.....Tantrums

We here at the Eaton household have had a roller coaster of emotions, to say the least, rolling through the household lately. It seems both of my kids decided to have their first meltdowns at the establishment called Crackerbarrel. When Emily was just a little over 1 yr as Jacob is now, we decided to go there for breakfast and from the beginning of our oh so lovely meal, it was doomed. Emily started out cranky b/c she was hungry then it transformed into her not wanting to eat anything you put in front of her, turning into a full on fit. Chris took her out of the restaurant while I finished up and she cried all the way home followed by a 3 hour nap. She made herself so upset she was sick. Well, this past Sunday we decided to have a family breakfast so we went to Crackerbarrel, Jacob was ok, at first, but then decided he did not want to drink from my cup anymore. I gave in and got him his own. that was not good enough either. This turned into nothing being good enough and him not eating a thing. Chris took him out so Emily and I could finish up and get checked out, he did not like that either. We had already told Emily we would go to the park afterward, so we did. Jacob was happy for the first 20 or so minutes, then we decided to go walking on the trail around the park and then it started..... I went and got Emily's cup from the restaurant out of the truck so they could have a drink. I let him have a drink and then he got mad that I took it. He wanted to go walking the path with it and the Mommy in me did not want the straw being jabbed into him. This cup was the biggest deal in the whole world to him. He actually sat down on the sidewalk and proceeded to cry about it. We let him sit there till he was done. He got up and came for the cup again so I gave it to him and of course he didn't want a drink he just wanted to hold it. So I took it and he threw himself on the ground and into the dirt crying. This lasted about 30-45 minutes before he finally stopped. Then I picked him up and we went to the truck since he was covered in dirt and snot. He was mad for a few more minutes than he was out like a light and took a 3 hour nap.
So apparently we should stay away from Cracker barrel in the mornings. I know this is a long drawn out story but its mainly for me to remember. It is kind of funny that both my kids did this at the same age and same place. Gotta love em.
Here are some pics of the happier moments of our family day.

Emily's Frist Day of Pre-school 07

My baby is all grown up!

What a doll.

This day was exciting and sad all at the same time. She did amazingly well and did not really care when I left her. She had a great day and loved it. I on the other hand was sad and depressed. Jacob was even sad that Sissy wasn't home. I was so eager to get to her I picked her up 30 minutes early.

Now it is the end of her first two weeks and she is still in school and tells me everyday that she will miss me when we get ready to go. There have been a couple days she wanted to stay home but of course I encouraged her to go. It just breaks my heart to hear her say "Momma, I gonna miss you today." She is so tender hearted. My sweet baby, is not so much a baby anymore. I am glad she likes her school and I would like to say it is getting easier to leave her as the days go by but, it's not. I miss my sweet little girl. As they say, "growing is up is hard to do."

Chris' 30th Birthday Bash!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chris and I went to Branson for the weekend by ourselves. It was so much fun. Anthony and Windy helped me put together a little surprise weekend for him. Windy got us a penthouse Friday night and some friends came over and we had a good time. Chris got a little hammered as we all expected. He did well though. Saturday we did a little shopping for the kids Christmas and then that evening we went to Springfield and went to this awesome sushi restaurant. Chris and I enjoyed ourselves. The kids stayed with Mom Friday and Saturday Emily had a sleepover with Trinity and Jerald and Amy watched them both till we got home Sunday. Thanks to everyone who helped out and made our weekend special.

Summer time 07

After an afternoon in the pool.
Gotta love McDonalds

This summer has been so hot, you either have to do things in the morning or evening. The heat wears you out. We have beat the heat for the most part but the kids are always ready to go. School officially starts on Monday, Emily is excited. I think I am more nervous than she is with her going everyday.

I have such wonderful kids.

Texas Granny and Papapa visit......Aug 07

Texas Granny and Papa came up to visit this weekend. We enjoyed it so much. Emily is already missing them. Just this morning she said, " Momma, I ready to go to Texas now." "I wanna go to Granny's house and go fishin and feed the birds." She loves them so much, we all do. Friday evening my parents cam over for dinner also and Chris made some yummy ribs on the grill and we all chowed down together. It was really nice to have everyone together. It was also my birthday on Saturday and they all made it so special for me. I got out for a few hours with my friend Amber for brunch, a massage and facial, it was so awesome. I appreciate being able to do that. My wonderful husband got me a new phone which I desperately needed, thank you. He actually came up to the spa because I had called him with Ambers phone and told him my phone wasn't working anymore and he came in and pulled the new one out of his pocket and said,"try this one." It was nice. Granny and Papa also treated us to a great dinner at Red Lobster, yummy!! Thank you so much, it was great. I just want to say to Ted and Linda, thanks for being such great grandparents to our kiddos, it really reflects in their attitudes and upbringing. Your the greatest. Especially to Mom Linda, I appreciate everything you do for us and the things you help me out with. You are truly someone that is special to me. We can't wait till October to see you again!

Weekend/Reunion

A couple recent pics....

I was lucky enough to get to go on a ride along with my hubby friday night since my Mom volunteered to take the kiddos for the night. Thanks Mom. I love going with him, it is so much fun to see how he interacts with people. I am very proud of him. God couldn't of given me anyone better.
My mom, me and the kids went to the Hill family reunion Saturday in Forest City. It was nice seeing people I hadn't seen since before Emily was born but I sure would like to know who decided to have it in August. I t was sooooo hot. We were all pooped by the time we got home.

The kids are anxious for Granny and Papa to come from Texas. Emily says she wants to take them to the zoo and the park. She is so excited.
